BOTSWANA - THE GREAT GIANTS GATHERING
DIRECTED by: Fitzgerald JEGO Botswana, Lake Makadigkadi, 45° Celsius. An immense swath of salt, dried for centuries, is the departure point for an immersion that takes Olivier Houalet from the Kalahari desert all the way to the frontiers of Zambia.
He leads us on the trail of the great elephant migration. A fascinating spectacle: every year, about 50 000 elephants traverse this section of Southern Africa to gather in the northern part of the country, along the Chobe River.
A little family of meerkats at sunrise, a lone elephant glimpsed near a riverbed of the Okavango, Olivier will penetrate a place where nature remains untouched and cohabitation with wild fauna is still possible. |

ZAMBIA - THE TEN MILLION BATS MYSTERY
DIRECTED by: Fitzgerald JEGO From October to December in Northeastern Zambia, the purple autumn sky becomes the backdrop for a unique happening: the largest gathering of mammals in the world.
Several million frugivorous bats come from all over Africa to take over the trees and the skies of the tiny forest of Kasanka. A miracle of nature that remains unexplained to this day. Olivier Houalet decided to witness the spectacle.
From the impressive Victoria Falls to the flooded grasslands of Bangwelu, lands are parched by months of driving heat in anticipation of the first rains. Olivier enters an unspoiled universe where humans and animals still vibrate to the rhythm of the seasons. |

TANZANIA - MEETING THE LAST CHIMPANZEES
DIRECTED by: Laurent FRAPAT Olivier Houalet takes us to the heart of the Rift valley, on the tracks of the last wild chimpanzees.
Throughout this journey, we shall discover an unknown aspect of Tanzania where mysterious colobus monkeys and majestic oryx mingle with pink flamingos. We will meet the Hadzabes, a population who lives away from the modern world and has preciously preserved its know-how and customs.
The ultimate step of this expedition will take us to the shores of lake Tanganyika where the last chimp communities have found shelter. Our distant cousins live hidden in an isolated and secluded jungle, still protected from human onslaught. A maiden voyage through these African lands where, more than six million years ago, men and chimpanzees shared a common ancestor. |

SUMATRA - ON THE TRACKS OF THE ORANGUTANS
DIRECTED by: Laurent FRAPAT To bury deep into the impenetrable forests of the island of Sumatra is to plunge into the heart of a primitive paradise, shaped by nature 100 million years ago.
In this dense forests where few men dare venture, Olivier Houalet embarks us on a quest for mythical animals: the furtive forest elephants, the very last Sumatra rhinoceroses and the shy orangutans.
But this exceptional Eden that concentrates 10% of the plant species on the planet is living on borrowed time. Every day, deforestation nibbles a little bit more habitat from the last representatives of this unique fauna that has become eminently precious. |
