Going on a safari in Etosha Park, the “land of dry waters”, is almost like visiting another planet! But despite appearances, this lunar landscape where dust, rock and sand abound, is teeming with life. Thanks to a handful of fortuitous watering holes, oryx, giraffes, ostriches, lions and impalas have learned to survive in this world of sand and stones.

Perrine Crosmary takes us from one watering hole to another to observe the exceptional ballet of animals that takes turns, quenching their thirst from morning to night. Giving us more chances to spot the last giants who inhabit this fascinating Namibian mineral terrain: the desert elephants!

Sabi Sabi is home to one the largest concentrations of leopards in Africa. In this verdant oasis, the African proverb that says “a hill for every leopard” takes on its full meaning. But finding this invisible predator in the heart of impenetrable thickets is far from easy. A solitary nature and legendary discretion make him a veritable phantom capable not only of blending in with the bush, but rendering himself invisible in crook of a tree branch.

Venture to the heart of an African miracle: the Okavango Delta is a paradox, an immense landlocked delta that vanishes in the desert without ever reaching the sea. On these capricious lands, with their periodic flooding, live a more diverse fauna than anywhere else on the continent.

It’s here that we have the best chance of observing a strange carnivore, among the most endangered on the continent: the lycaon or wild African dog.

By car and by boat, Perrine Crosmary leads us to the heart of this aquatic labyrinth on the heels of a wild pack. We’ll attempt to locate the family den and observe the lives of those who locals call the painted wolf.
